A 35-strong group of Filipinos is now ready to apply as members of Yakap Sa Mamamayan or Yaman Advocacy Cooperative after a historic pre-membership education seminar (PMES) on July 27 via Zoom platform.
PMES is a session mandated by the Cooperative Development of the Philippines.
Dubbed as Yaman Exposition Seminar (YES), the orientation program started at 8:15 in the evening. For the first time, Yaman Advocacy Cooperative founder and chairperson Lloyd Luna, made public the presentation briefing for potential members of the Cooperative.
Luna, a professional motivational speaker and author for 20 years, started with facts about poverty. He said, “15.5% or 17.5 million Filipinos are poor” and “7 out of 10 Filipinos have debts.”
“We have a huge problem and one solution is Yaman,” he stressed.
A presentation that lasted for an hour, participants gave a thumbs up and commended the idea behind the Cooperative.
“Hindi kami pera-pera. Pero, magkaka-pera rin,” he humored.
The vision of Yaman Advocacy Cooperative is summed up in a three-word phrase: One Wealthy Nation. It’s going to be achieved through its mission, “Enrich the people.”
He said, “Enriching the people” doesn’t only making them rich financially. It’s enrichment in all fronts and forms. We enrich people mentally, emotionally, spiritually, too!”
The orientation program is the first in its class with Lloyd Luna himself, the Philippines’ #PambansangInspiration, taking the spotlight to share everything there is about Yaman.
Comprised of professional speakers, trainers, and subject matter experts, Yaman Advocacy Cooperative is a unique type of cooperative with an impossible advocacy: Poverty alleviation through training and education.
The group believes impossibility is just an idea and it doesn’t matter even if it’s impossible. At the end of the day, it’s going to be a spectacular journey for the Filipinos and the Philippines.
